An anti-rattle device isn't absolutely necessary for the Reese # 63153 cargo carrier, but using a locking hitch pin like # e98882 along with the # e99007 anti-rattle device would prevent the carrier from moving around in the hitch receiver. We do have adapters by Blue Ox that are designed to connect your Jeep's D-rings with a Blue Ox tow bar. The Adapter Lugs # BX88296 will fit a bumper that has 7/8 inch diameter lug pins. They are compatible with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380. I see your concern of the adapter lugs scratching the paint on your Jeep's bumper because it's likely going to happen. There isn't a correct custom cable for your Jeep Wrangler JKU, that is because the JKU's don't have the connectors under the dash like the JLU's. That being said, you can still get your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 up and running by hardwiring (splicing) it in.
